OLD GREENWICH COMMON FORCE MAIN
Bortech was contracted to install 140-feet of 48-inch steel casing pipe under a ramp to access I-95 in Greenwich, CT. On this project the boring logs did not present the percentage of boulder and cobbles that were present along the bore path. Thus, a hand tunnel was the only method that would realize an on line and grade completion.
Bortech utilized the micro-blast method for rock fracturing in specific scenarios on this tunnel. This project was completed on line and grade with a sand medium filling the annular space using a method that realized 44 cubic yards of fill in 12 hours.
